Released in 1988, the Alesis Midiverb II rapidly became a favourite unit in studios due to its exceptional ease of use. Essentially a box with 99 preset effects in it, all you had to do was punch in the 2-digit patch number you wanted to access reverb, gated reverb, reverse gated reverb, delays, flanging and chorus effects, The Midiverb II Impulse Pack contains 79 impulses of the reverb and delay programs built in to the unit:
- 29 reverb patches (programs 01 - 29)
- 10 gated reverbs patches (light gate: programs 30 -34, fast gate: programs 35 - 39)
- 10 reverse reverbs including the lush 'bloom' reverbs (programs 45, 49)
- 20 delays (programs programs 70 - 89)
- 10 special programs (programs 90 - 99)

In 1986, Alesis produced this unit—the MIDIverb—the first ever 16-bit professional effects processor under $1,000 (the unit was not called the 'MIDIverb 1' back then because it was the only one). This unit has some good presets for that 'swimming in.
All impulses were created at 48kHz Font similar to monotype corsiva.
- The Midiverb II is the only piece of recording equipment that I've had since my 4-track cass days! On The Go-Betweens' 'Friends of Rachel Worth' album, the mixes I did I thought were gonna be rough mixes and I used the 04 reverb on all of them! 29 long reverb is great for surreal washes of noise.
